Story Adaptation - The Icy Twist

Hey guys! Today's blog post will be slightly different from the others as we are doing a story adaptation. Enjoy!

Try guessing what stories we used. You can write them down in the comment section below! :)

WE DON'T OWN ANY OF THE CHARACTERS IN THE STORY.

---

It was a beautiful day in Corona. The sun was shining, the flowers were blooming, and the birds were singing from their nests. Flynn Rider (Eugene Fitzherbert) was on his way to meet with his girlfriend, Rapunzel.

"Rapunzel! Let down your hair." Flynn said in a sing-song voice.

Soon, a wave of beautiful long blonde hair was laid down from the tower. However, instead of Flynn climbing up, Rapunzel climbed down. Flynn greeted Rapunzel with a kiss on the cheek and they intertwined their fingers, strolling down the forest path.

"Where are we going, Eugene?" She said excitedly.

"It's a surprise, my dear. Be patient. I will tell you this though, we are going to a place that you will definitely enjoy yourself." Flynn chuckled, shaking his head at Rapunzel's impatience.

Meanwhile, in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, the King and Queen of Arendelle are on their way to visit their relatives. The two were in their suite in the ship, in the middle of a heated argument.

"Why can't we tell them, George?! Cousins shouldn't be strangers! They should at least know they have other relatives. It's just not fair!" Lisa, the Queen of Arendelle, fumed.

George, the King of Arendelle, sighed in frustration. "I've told you a million times! It's for their own sake!" He semi-yelled, running his fingers through his perfectly styled hair.

The witch
"Fine." Lisa sighed.

After a long night, they finally arrive in the Kingdom of Corona. They secretly made their way to Rapunzel's tower, dismissing their guards on duty as they had been ordered by the evil witch, who takes care of Rapunzel, not to bring any security.

As they were about to call for the witch, a cloth has been covered over their mouths and a sense of unconsciousness had fallen upon them from a chemical which was applied on the cloth. The witch's evil laugh echoed throughout their minds as they fall unconscious.

-----

Ana burst through the doors of Elsa's office as she repeatedly called her sister's name. "Elsa! Elsa!" She called.

"Wanna see where mom and dad are going?" She grinned mischievously. Elsa looked at Ana like she had two heads. "What? As in following them? And sailing?" Elsa asked. Ana nodded her head excitedly. "Yeah! It would be fun! Plus, they never tell us about their trips."

Elsa rubbed the back of her neck in thought and sighed. "I don't know..." She said, biting her lip. "Please?" Ana pouted with her puppy dog eyes, dragging the word out.

Elsa chuckled. "Fine. We'll set sail later this evening. Go pack your things now." Just as she said that, Ana had walked out and Olaf popped his head into the room with a big grin on his snowy face.

"Ooh, I'll come along too!" Olaf clapped his hands excitedly and strutted off into the palace but Elsa called him, stopping him in his tracks.

"Olaf? Have you been eavesdropping on our conversation?" Elsa asked, crossing her arms.

Olaf turned around slowly. "I wouldn't say eavesdropping. Just observing your conversation from a small distance without you knowing." He said sheepishly. "But I did come here for a reason. I was thinking, since it seems kinda lonely being the only snowman here, could maybe make me another snowman?"

Elsa chuckled. "Sure." With a simple wave of her hand, she made a snowman just like Olaf. But instead of a long carrot nose, it was a baby carrot nose.

"Hi! I'm Falo and I like warm hugs!" The snowman talked.

Olaf gasped. "Me too! My name is Olaf by the way and you are my new brother." The two bonded and interacted as they strutted down the hallway, chatting away.

----

They finally arrived at the dock of Corona and left their bags back at the ship as they will be sleeping in the ship at night. The ship parked carefully beside the dock, and attracted some attention as it was a royal ship.

Ana
Ana hopped of the boat along with Olaf and Falo, looking around excitedly while Elsa wobbled carefully down the dock. Elsa's face looked green as she felt like she was about to throw up any second now. Ana looked back at Elsa. "Come on, Elsa! Let's go-" Ana was so excited that she didn't look where she was going and bumped into someone.

She looked up to see a blonde girl with a chameleon on her shoulder. "Sorry!"She noticed the girl's beautiful long hair and her jaw dropped in surprise. "Woah, your hair is just- woah!"

Elsa finally regained her posture and got the hold of herself. "Ana, you have to watch where you're going!" Elsa shook her head at her sister. "I am so sorry." She said to the blonde girl.

The girl laughed. "Nah, it's all good. I'm Rapunzel, what's your name? Are you guys new?" Rapunzel asked curiously.

The sisters were about to answer but a voice interrupted them, calling Rapunzel's name. "Rapunzel! There you are. Who's this?" A brunette boy with devilish good looks ran up to Rapunzel, slinging his arm around the blonde.

"They're my new friends! Well not yet. You interrupted them when they were about to tell me their names." Rapunzel replied, just as Olaf and Falo walked up beside Ana. "Oh my gosh, what is that?!" Rapunzel screamed in surprise and took out her frying pan to protect herself.

Ana and Elsa immediately got in front of the snowmen, afraid that Rapunzel would hit them. "No, it's okay. They're our friends." Elsa defended quickly.

"Hi, I'm Olaf and I like warm hugs."

"And I'm Falo and I like warm hugs too."

"I'm Ana by the way, and this is my sister, Elsa. We're from Arendelle and we're looking for our parents." Ana explained.

"Oh okay, this is my boyfriend Flynn Rider but I call him Eugene because that's his real name." Rapunzel introduced and the brunette boy shook hands with the sisters.

They all chatted for a while on the deck, trying to get to know each other. "Hey, here's an idea. Why don't you come with us to the carnival?" Elsa and Ana looked at each other confusedly and looked back at Rapunzel.

"What's a carnival?" Elsa asked. Rapunzel and Flynn's jaws dropped in surprise.

Flynn looked at them with wide eyes. "You've never been to a carnival? Worst yet - You don't even know what's a carnival?" He asked, completely shocked.

"No..." Ana trailed off. Rapunzel and Flynn suddenly went on about what is a carnival and what fun things you could do there.

"Basically, it's the best thing in the world. I mean look!" Rapunzel concluded and pointed to the carnival not too far away from the deck. The chameleon on her shoulder nodded its head in agreement.

Olaf giggled in excitement. "Well then, what are we waiting for?"

Falo agreed and hopped with joy. "Let's go!" He said and the two snowmen ran towards the direction of the carnival. They all laughed and they too, ran off towards the direction of the carnival.

----

*Meanwhile in the basement of the tower*

"LET US GO!" Lisa yelled, trying her best to wiggle out of the ropes that were tied securely around her.

The witch cackled in amusement and sighed. "It's cute that you actually think that I'm going to listen to you when you're the one who has been listening to me this whole time."

"What do you want from us?" George growled. "We followed all your orders for the past 18 years!"

The witch grinned evilly. "I want you to surrender Elsa to me or Rapunzel and Ana will get it." She said and picked on her fingernails.

"No! You can't do this!" Lisa yelled.

The witch smirked. "Aw honey, of course I won't. She will. One thing they all have in common is that they're always curious."

"You won't get away with this!" George yelled, trying his very best to wiggle out of the ropes.

The witch chuckled. "I already did." She cackled and left the basement.

----

"Oh my gosh. I can't believe I have never ever been to a carnival before." Elsa said as she stuffs her face with cotton candy and popcorn at the same time.

Ana laughed, turning around and walked backwards so she could talk to them as she walks. "Yeah! This is the most fun I have ever-" Her joyful face suddenly turned into a pained expression. "Ow!" She winced as she jumped away from the rocky pillar.

Elsa rushed to Ana's side. "Oh my gosh, Ana why do you have to be so clumsy?" She said worriedly as she inspected the cut on Ana's arm.

"Here, let me help!" Rapunzel rushed to Ana's side as well and started wrapping her hair around the cut on Ana's arm.

"Um, not to be rude or anything but I think a bandage is much more helpful than your hair." Falo spoke up.

Rapunzel chuckled nervously and explained to the four confused people about the magic power she has in her hair that reverses back time when she sings. Once they understood, Elsa opened up about her ice powers as well, quickly explaining her story.

"Wow, never thought I'll meet someone with magical powers like me." Rapunzel said.

"Me too."

Ana winced in pain. "Hello?! Injured human being over here!" Rapunzel laughed and apologised. She sang her song and soon, her long blonde hair glowed like it's supposed to. When she finished, she unwrapped her hair from Ana's arm to reveal that the cut is no longer there. It looked like Ana had never even cut herself in the first place.

"Wow!" Ana said in amazement as she looked at fully-healed arm. "Thanks!"

"No problem." Rapunzel waved off and then invited them over to her tower to have tea.

"You should." Flynn said. "Her cupcakes are to die for." They all agreed and followed her to her tower. They climbed up the tower slowly with an overexcited Ana who was constantly almost falling off the tower. Ana wiped her forehead and said, "Phew, that was quite a workout."

Without even stepping a foot in the tower, Elsa heard screams of terror followed by muffled voices and the shufflings of one's feet echoing through the corridors. With curiosity, he asked Rapunzel and Flynn about it but they just shrugged their shoulders, not knowing why there were shouts and screams.

Elsa, Ana, Rapunzel and Flynn decided to check it out and followed the oddly familiar voices which lead them to a secret passageway which Rapunzel didn't know even existed. The door was unlocked and a loud bang echoed throughout the room, stopping the screams.

The sight that greeted them was not pretty at all. The room was dusty and old with cobwebs in every corners and nails sticking out of the wooden floorboards. There they were in the middle of the room, King George and Queen Lisa of Arendelle tied up to chairs with their mouths slightly covered with duct tape, head hung low and their eyes closed.

Ana and Elsa gasped in horror. "Mom! Dad!" They yelled and immediately ran to their parents but as soon as they did, Rapunzel and Flynn yelled out their names in caution. Elsa's eyes widened when she looked up and immediately shoved Ana out of the way as a cage fell upon her.

Her dress was caught by the cage so she could only stay in one spot. She tried her best yanking it away but it was no use. "Elsa!" Ana quickly rushed to the cage and tightened her hands around the bars. "Oh my gosh, how are we going to get you out of there? Rapunzel, Flynn! Come over here and help me try to tip the cage over." She yelled, slightly panicking.

The couple quickly ran to Ana's side and the three of them tried their best to tip the cage over but it was just too heavy. Just as they try again, an evil cackle echoed through out the basement as the witch finally appeared from the shadows. "Elsa, my dear Elsa... It's about time you arrived." She smiled wickedly.

Elsa glared at her. "What do you want from us?"

"Oh, for years I thought Rapunzel was the only who could keep me stay beautiful with her powers but I soon found out that your DNA could keep me young permanently whereas Rapunzel could only keep me young temporarily." She sighed. Elsa couldn't contain her anger any longer. She zapped her powers, as quick as lighting, but missed as the witch was alert and moved out immediately.

The witch suddenly teleported behind Ana and gently placed a large, sharp knife against her back. "If any of you moves, Ana gets it." The witch warned, putting slightly more pressure into Ana's back. Ana squirmed but stayed silent, not daring to move.

"Please don't hurt my sister!" Elsa cried out. The witch raised her eyebrows and looked at Ana, a evil grin slowly appearing onto her face.

"Your sister? As in you two have similar DNA?" She smirked.

*Meanwhile upstairs in the tower*

"Falo! Stop looking through Rapunzel's stuff! They might come up any second now." Olaf semi-yelled, his eyes darting from his brother to the staircase nervously.

Falo laughed. "Pfft, calm down. I'm sure they don't mind." Falo waved him off and continued looking through the chest of Rapunzel's things. "Hey, what's this? Woah! It's heavy!" He tried holding up Rapunzel's special gold frying pan that Flynn had bought Rapunzel.

Olaf attempted to take the frying pan out of his brother's hands and observed it, dragging it nearer to the staircase. "I don't know." He turned around and shrugged. "Probably nothing important." Olaf picked it up but accidentally fell down the staircase.

"Ahhh!" Olaf cried out as he tumbled down the staircase.

Falo stood there, staring at the staircase blankly. "Olaf?... Are you okay?" He called.

*Back down the basement.*

"Well, two is always better than one." The witch said smugly but as soon as she raised the knife up, Olaf had tumbled down the stairs and had let go of the Rapunzel's gold frying pan. The frying pan flew and hit the witch straight on the head.

The witch fainted and fell onto the floor unconscious. They all cheered and Ana quickly woke her parents up, untying the as well. All of them soon used all their might to tip the cage over and it worked! Elsa was finally freed and they all celebrated with hugs.

But soon, secrets were spilled as Elsa and Ana's parents asked and also answered some questions. Rapunzel was Elsa and Ana's cousin and it was also revealed to Rapunzel that she was the princess of Corona. The king and queen also explained that they came to check on Rapunzel's health condition.

"Cancer?..." Flynn trailed off, his face paled. "But your hair?"

"It's still real because I've just only gotten cancer. It hasn't lose its powers nor have I lost my hair. I was going to tell you on our date but we bumped into Elsa and Ana." She was on the verge of tears as she explained.

Queen Lisa smiled calmly and placed her hand on Rapunzel's shoulder. "Sweetie, we came here to check on you and also to tell you about the cure. We just need a bit of your DNA as well with a bit of Elsa's and just some fresh water. Since you have the power of rewinding time, you could turn your body back to when you didn't have cancer. Then, we just have to add in Elsa's DNA as well so it could keep the cure permanent."

Rapunzel, Ana and Elsa cheered. "But how are we gonna get their DNAs?" Ana questioned.

"Their tears." King George shrugged. It took half an hour to make Elsa and Rapunzel cry but they soon carried out the process and the liquid glowed brightly once it was done. Rapunzel drank the potion that was her cure.

"Slowly. Good." Queen Lisa said gently. "Now, it will take a few hours for the potion to settle into your body and you should be good to go."

*A few hours later in the castle*

Behind the locked jail bars, the witch sang,

"Let me go, Let me go!

 Don't hold me here anymore!

 Let me go, let me go!

Come back here and open the door!

I DON'T CARE...

What you're GOING TO DO...

Just let me...

GO!!!

I never liked Rapunzel anyways...

The happy families (including Flynn, Olaf and Falo) chatted happily, ignoring and walking away from the witch. Everything was perfect like it should be. Rapunzel finally has a real family and the Arendelle sister finally have another relative their age besides themselves.

Rapunzel was cancer-free and will be able to keep her hair, along side with Flynn who will soon plan on marrying her. They all lived happily ever after... The End.

Or is it?...

Maze Runner : The Scorch Trials (2015) Movie Reviews.

SPOILERS AHEAD. ADVISED NOT TO BE READ IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED THE MOVIE! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

---------

Hello again my fellow Dreamers! <3

I'm pretty sure you guys have heard of the chart topping movie, The Maze Runner, right?
Well, The Scorch Trials (Phase 2) came out last Thursday so we decided to watch it together.

We have decided to share our opinions on it with you
guys! Enjoy! :)

Marble:

The Scorch Trials is definitely added to the list of my favorites. The movie is a mixture of thriller, action, and horror (with their mini jump scares). After watching that movie, I thought to myself, that RM15 and that 2 hours of my life was so worth it! I absolutely loved that movie. It was just too good! The amazing plot and visual effects plus the actors (*cough* Thomas Sangster) are really attractive which is a bonus for many fangirls.The ending was very frustrating if you ask me. I can't get over the fact that Minho (Ki Hong Lee) was electrocuted and taken, that broke my heart into a million pieces! :( Teresa has disappointed me very much but it's okay. Overall, I would give the movie a 10/10 and will re-watch it over a million times if I had the chance. I am definitely very excited for the next part of the series (The Death Cure) which will be release in February 2017. :)

Pecan:

THEY DID IT AGAIN! The Scorch Trials was beyond what I expected with its thrilling action-packed storyline. A great big round of applause to the special effects crew for the amazing explosions and thunderstorm scenes.  Beware of the Cranks. I'm not joking. They might sound harmless but oh boy, they're the COMPLETE OPPOSITE! They scared the hand out of my popcorn!  I could see Fudge beside me gasping and slightly shaking in fear. All the editing really paid off.
How can I even forget the talented actors and actresses? Let me tell you, they were remarkable and looked stunning even when they were covered in dirt, mud and filth. The antagonist of the movie had such a misleading role that I really hated he/she *Not going to spoil it*  at the end of the movie. The cinema was filled with gasps and a few tears courtesy to yours truly, Pecan when a certain someone who Marble already mentioned was captive by the antagonists. Maze Runner (The Death Cure) get ready for Pecan because she's going to theaters nearby playing The Death Cure hopefully in 2017.

That's all from Pecan! I need my sleep <3

Fudge:

So hey guys! I guess by the time you read this, you already know what basically happened from the spoilers. The Scorch Trials were AMAZING as expected and it's not just because of the attractive cast, *cough* Dylan O'Brien *cough* it's also because of how perfectly the movie was produced. It was just simply amazing. Plus, how can we not forget the jump scares? My heart was in my mouth throughout the whole movie because it just kept my adrenaline running as I don't know when something is going to pop up. OH MY GOSH AND I CANNOT DESCRIBE THE BETRAYAL AND ANGER I FELT BY THE END OF THE MOVIE. I'm not gonna spoil it for you who was the betrayer but let me tell you, I am still not over it. But other than that, I really enjoyed the movie and it's really hard to decide whether I liked it because Dylan O'Brien was in it or the movie was amazing in general. Just kidding! (not really) I can't wait to watch the next movie in 2017 with my babes. (#TrioForLife <3)

Our Bucket List

buck·et list

noun: bucket list; plural noun: bucket lists

Meaning : a number of experiences or achievements that a person hopes to have or accomplish during their lifetime.

Simple Sentence : "Making this trip is the first thing on my bucket list"

--------------

Sick of your monotonous, dull life? Want to spice your life, not regretting a single moment of your past. Having a goal so far, it seems impossible to reach. Why not write your own bucket list? It motivates and pushes you to tick off all the boxes on your list.

Want to read a tiny section from our bucket list? Well, lets waste 7 minutes of your day.

---

Marble's Bucket List

  • Attend a 5 Seconds of Summer concert and have backstage and VVIP tickets *Crazy Fangirl moment. Please give Marble a moment.*

Being a massive fan of their music since 4th of April 2014, Marble has been obsessed with their charming personalities, perfect voices, stylish hair, sharp jawlines and chubby cheeks. She has all their albums and is just insanely in love with their catchy tunes and down-to-earth attitudes. Constantly talking about the Australian band, she would definitely go beyond what a regular fan would do.

  • Watch 'SMOED' live.
SMOED <3
Smoed is a 4-time world champion in cheerleading. They are truly an inspiration for her. From their amazing tumbling to their sassy dances, it has always gave her some sort of motivation. Of Course, she wouldn't miss a chance of watching her lifetime inspiration which is one of the reasons why she is a cheerleader now.

 Pecan's Bucket List

  • Donate my hair to a Cancer organisation.
Something about helping the terminally ill patients interested Pecan. After watching an inspirational video of a 8 year old boy giving away his long hair, she was hooked on the idea of donating the long locks. Of course she has to first grow her hair out which she'll do in about 4 years later and then push through the temptation of dying her hair after graduating high school which seems IMPOSSIBLE because who doesn't want coloured hair?

  • Attend 'VidCon' or 'PlayListLive'
Pecan loves watching videos on 'Youtube' all day long. With many hours of her week spent on 'Youtube', she has a list of her favourite 'youtubers' or also formally known as content creators. Imagine being in the same country as your favourite idols, that's amazing but being in the same hall as them, that's a dream come true for Pecan. That is why Pecan would love to tick this off her list some time in the near future <3

Fudge's Bucket List

  • To hug a giraffe and to become part of their herd for a week.

A giraffe that reminded me of Fudge

To be honest, Fudge had always wanted to hug either a lion or a tiger but she's too afraid that they will bite her head off so she moved on to giraffes. Since Fudge is basically a giraffe already with her unusually long neck and her tall figure, she decides that she wants to become part of their herd before she dies. She would like to thrive and eat like them in the wild for a week and possibly ride one of the giraffes. (But she will make sure that people will check up on her once in a while just in case a carnivore tries to hunt on the herd or something. ;)

  • Go camping with Jennifer Lawrence/Shailene Woodley.
Jennifer Lawrence
Shailene Woodley
This is probably the most unrealistic wish on Fudge's bucket list. But hey, a girl can only dream right? Camping is definitely something on Fudge's bucket list, but to bring it up a notch, she would like to do it with either Jennifer Lawrence or Shailene Woodley. If she were to go with Jennifer, it would be because she must have had some archery skills from when she was filming the Hunger Games and will be able to protect her from any dangerous animals. But if it was Shailene, it would be because of the fact that she is basically Mother Earth as she eats clay, does not have a cellphone, collects her own drinking water from the forests and makes her own toothpaste. This girl could definitely take on the challenges of nature. So that's two of Fudge's things on her bucket list. Hope we gave you some ideas if you don't know what to have on your bucket list! :)

Gotta go, buffalo!  <3

Volleyball, Twisted Ankles and Wasps

Fudge's Personal Blogpost Entry #1

HELLO EVERYBODY!

It is my turn to post something on Sunday and today I'm going to write about how my weekend went. So grab a pair a headphones and get ready to listen to your music to distract you from falling asleep when you read this blogpost!

Let's get to it shall we?

Okay so to start off this interesting weekend with a interesting Friday. (And by interesting, I mean nothing good came out of this.) I stayed in the Primary School's canteen and spent thirty minutes finishing off the 100 lines of 'I will not complain about work anymore.' that my geography teacher had given the whole class.

I don't blame her, really. What she said was true. We complain too much for our own good.

But anyways ~ I had my usual training like digging, doing service but most of the time, we played game.

For those of you non-volleyballers out there, or those of you who don't speak French, I'll just explain what those terms are.

*I've forgotten to take pictures so I'll just use pictures from Google. So excuse my lack of originality.*
Digging

This is digging. It's the first thing you need to learn in order to play volleyball. You would have to keep your arms together and keep them straight at all times.

I'm sure you know what I mean by looking at the photo so I don't think I have to give you a full-on lecture about it.

Overhand Serve

This is what we call service, or serving. There are two types of service - the upperhand or the underhand. The girl in the picture to the left is using the upperhand serve.

It's a much more advance type of service that requires strength and timing. Many female volleyball players prefer to use the underhand serve first and slowly move up to the upperhand.

But you just start off with the overhand if you feel like you're strong enough to learn the overhand first.

That's usually what the boys would choose since they have the advantage of strength that most girls don't have. So it's basically easier for them to learn it.

High School Volleyball Game

Okay I'm pretty sure everyone knows what the term 'game' is.

The picture basically explains everything so I really need to go into detail about it.

Okay so back to what happened during volleyball training - my coach had subbed me into the game and I took his place in the boy's team.

I was nervous to say the least, because I was on the same team as the guys which means they are really good. So I was trying my best not to make any major mistakes.

Fortunately, I didn't. I did quite well if I say so myself.

I even managed to save the ball when one of the players had hit the ball to hard, so the ball went out of the court. I quickly ran backwards while looking up at the ball and managed to dig it high so another player could spike it.

It was a proud moment for me when the guys told me I did a good job. :)

After a while, my coach subbed me into the girls team when one of them had left. I had became the setter for the girls and as the setter, my job is to try to block as many spikes as I can, and to set the ball high for the other players to spike.

Snapchat: awk0jojo
So when I jumped, trying to block a spike, I landed on the side of my foot, twisting my ankle. It was agonising. I screamed out in pain and the game immediately stopped. My teammates quickly helped me hop over to the side of the court.

One of them carefully wrapped my foot in the bandage. After assuring them I was okay, they went to practice their spiking.

Was it bad that I added it to my snapchat story?

Oh well.

While the others practiced their spiking, I just sat there at the side of the court and watched them.

It sucked because my favourite part of volleyball trainings is when we train our spiking and I LOVE spiking.

When they finished, they came over to me and sat down around me. We talked and laughed as they stretched, warming themselves down.

But as they were stretching, my friend shouted out and I quote, "OH MY GOSH, A WASP!" And as she said that, my teammates immediately scattered and ran to the other side of the volleyball court, completely abandoning me with the humungous wasp.

I am absolutely terrified of wasps or bees. It comes from my fear of needles and since wasps/bees have stingers which are similar to needles, I am definitely not too fond of the idea of having a wasp right next to my ear.

I could literally hear the buzzing of the wasp beside my ear as I shut my eyes in fear and stayed in my frozen facade.

Once the wasp had flown away, I immediately hopped with my good foot to the other end of the court, far away from the wasp.

It was one interesting day, alright.

Well, that's the end of my blogpost! I'll see you next time. :)

Matinee Charity Concert 2015

 Welcome to Pecan's Personal Posts! Let's waste 10 minutes of your Sunday every month.

I'm here to spill all the details during my first Sri Kuala Lumpur's Matinee Charity Concert 2015
A 2-day concert held annually over the past few years in hopes of raising money to bring happiness and joy to the less fortunate. We, Pecan and Fudge were excited to be amazed by the colourful lights, harmonious singing and intricate dances.

~~~~~
Cramped in a tight corridor with a hundred of talking, noisy students while a teacher was trying to direct everyone. Not a great way to start my Friday after-school adventures. My friends and I didn't want to late so we stuffed our faces with chocolate candy, chips and apple juice ( Such a healthy meal).
The Opening Act
The opening act started with one of my classmates playing a large drum as people dressed in  traditional Malay clothing with "compangs" ( a small tambourine-sized drum) came on stage, making a melodic beat. My friend was playing the dhol at the sides. Then, various dancers graced the stage, performing traditional dances found all over Malaysia. Combined with the colourful lights and their vivid costumes, it was trippy and lively sight on stage. As the music and crowd calmed down, the emcees showed us a multimedia slideshow featuring the children at the Children's Wish Society of Malaysia and how a helping hand could be a miracle to others. Tears were flowing down my face and tissues were used.
Solo performance
The next act was a solo performance by Claudia Tan in which she sang "New York State of Mind" by Billie Joel. Her performance was STUNNING and so was she! After that was a duet on the broadway hit, "Take Me or Leave Me". It was delightful and beautifully sang! It was followed by a traditional Indian dance that portrayed a love story on two different individuals that came from different backgrounds in India.
SRI KL Dance Crew
After that was the long awaited magic act. The magician performed various mind-blowing tricks such as putting sharp knives on a box that was attached to a girl's head, having 2 girls magically appear and much more. I was wide-eyed throughout the whole act. Next was traditional butterfly dance portraying a love story where the girl wasn't allow to live happily ever after with her true love. The dance was absolutely breathtaking. The cameo of two of our teachers were hilarious but they had great acting skills as the parents. Laughing loudly with the crowd, the next act, a K-pop hip hop dance came out wearing their vibrant costumes.
Butterfly Dance
The Emcees
Afterwards was the Diablo performance where the students showed off their talents with the Chinese yo-yo.
Lastly, the final act came on stage. They sang "All of Me" by John Legend to close the wonderful and epic Matinee Charity Concert. It was truly a magnificent concert, showcasing the many hidden talents in Sri KL. The emcees were great, always having the crowd in fits of laughter. The performances were incredible but personally, I didn't really like the costumes in a few of the acts. Overall, I'm very proud of the concert and they did really great! Actually it was better than what I have expected.
 ~~~~~

I'm so sorry if I missed out any performances as  I have really bad memory. The pictures are not mine, I'm not good with cameras. Credits to JM Photography for providing the pictures. Go check the page out on Facebook!

Well, see you next time in 3 weeks! Have a 'lovely' Monday my fellow procrastinators.

Adios, hippos!

Is the Loch Ness Monster real?

Hey guys! We're back!

But before we could start off with our blog post, we would like to make an announcement. From now onwards, we will be updating individually every Sunday. The three of us will take turns to update on each Sunday. But don't worry, we'll still have blog posts like these with all three of us together.

Now that, that's over...

This blog post is going to be about the 'mythical' Loch Ness Monster! Or as many people would call the mysterious unknown creature, 'Nessie'.

"Nessie" Taken in 1933

Each of us went around asking someone we know and these were the answers the three of us received:

Do You Believe that The "Loch Ness Monster" exists?

Ashley Mia of 8 Lambda from Sri KL

If I'm not mistaken, it was classified as a mythical creature. The creature is said to be pretty big. Therefore, if it is was to be real, somebody would have found it already. With our technology now, it wouldn't be hard to find a huge creature. However, it hasn't been found and this is probably because it isn't real.

Chua Wan Rong of 8 Sigma from Sri KL

In my opinion, I actually do believe in this mystical creature. Many may say it's some fake rumor or it's just a myth. But I think with the amount of pictures and videos from scientists all around the world, it can be trusted, alongside with all the eye-witnesses. Other than that, I also think that some myths are true like the myths on how spirits exist, the same goes to this creature. Many people may not be convinced but I believe that it's mostly because of the lack of evidence and the strangeness as many never heard of such before. To be fair, everyone has their own opinions and this is just my point of view! :)

I believe that the "Loch Ness Monster" is a hoax. I've heard numerous stories and reports about Nessie but I believe it's just a mythical creature that was mind boggling to many people. This creature was made up by someone who seeks attention and also for publicity. It made headlights, catching everyone's attention and focus to this strange, never before seen monster. Nessie attracted a great number of tourists who were anxious and curious about this mythical monster. Although the papers provided pictures and sightings of it, it may not be true. It could just be a scam as no one knows what it looked like. After about 80 years, I'm puzzled to why no one has yet to catch this creature. It's massive! How is it still in the sea without anyone catching a glimpse of it? That's right, it's obviously fictional. The "Loch Ness Monster'" is a non-existent, imaginary and made-up creature. Others would have a different point of view and would disagree with me but this is what I believe.

Well that's our blog post for now! We'll see you next Sunday with Sheryl a.k.a Pecan being the first out of three of us to post.

Later alligator! :)

Music Video Review

Ever got a song stuck in your head?

Of course you have. We're all human after all.

The song that has been stuck in our heads lately is 'Flashlight' by Jessie J. Everyone is basically annoyed by us as we kept singing and humming the tune of the song over and over again in school.

Here's the music video of the song that is from the movie sequel, Pitch Perfect 2.

Alongside with the lyrics:

When tomorrow comes
I'll be on my own
Feeling frightened of
The things that I don't know
When tomorrow comes
Tomorrow comes
Tomorrow comes

And though the road is long
I look up to the sky
And in the dark I found,
I lost hope that I won't fly
And I sing along, I sing along
And I sing along

I got all I need when I got you and I
I look around me, and see a sweet life
I'm stuck in the dark but you're my flashlight
You're getting me, getting me through the night
Can't stop my heart when you shinin' in my eyes
Can't lie, it's a sweet life
I'm stuck in the dark but you're my flashlight
You're getting me, getting me through the night
'Cause you're my flashlight (flashlight)
You're my flashlight (flashlight)
You're my flashlight

I see the shadows long beneath the mountain top
I'm not afraid when the rain won't stop
'Cause you light the way
You light the way, you light the way

I got all I need when I got you and I
I look around me, and see a sweet life
I'm stuck in the dark but you're my flashlight
You're getting me, getting me through the night
Can't stop my heart when you shinin' in my eyes
I can't lie, it's a sweet life
I'm stuck in the dark but you're my flashlight
You're getting me, getting me through the night
(Light light light you're my flashlight, light, light)
Light light you're my flashlight
Light light light light light, oh
(Light light light you're my flashlight, light, light)
You're my flash, oh

I got all I need when I got you and I
I look around me, and see a sweet life
I'm stuck in the dark but you're my flashlight
You're getting me, getting me through the night
Can't stop my heart when you shinin' in my eyes
I can't lie, it's a sweet life
I'm stuck in the dark but you're my flashlight
(You're my flashlight)
You're getting me, getting me through the night
'Cause you're my flashlight
'Cause you're my flashlight
You're my flashlight

You're my flashlight
Light light
You're my flashlight
Light light ye-yeah

You're my flashlight

These are our opinions on it:

Marble:
"I'm stuck in the darkness but you're my flashlight." This is one of my favorite lines from one of the best songs this century - Flashlight by Jessie J. This song is also the official soundtrack for the movie "Pitch Perfect 2"! It was indeed a great movie.

In my point of view, this song is a very powerful song. It describes about the Barden Bellas, who's a group of 8 young ladies matching pitch to sing, and their strong bond between one another.Their friendship was unbreakable, no matter what obstacles they face. Other than that, the video also has small snippets of Jessie J dancing around Barden University which is the university the Barden Bellas are from. She didn't take the central attention but the small parts of the movie did.

I also find this song really inspiring as it shows that nobody who we get into a fight with, there's always a way to fix it. As in the music video, the story behind it which is about a guy who got in a fight with his girlfriend and fixed their relationship when Jessie J gave him advice to apologized to her. It fit the lyrics of the song as they realized that they are meant for each other. It was truly an amazing story for the song.

I really like the song, the music video and even the movie! I would recommend all you Wanderlustful Dreamers to watch it, eventually the song will be stuck in your head too! So yeah.. GO WATCH IT! I'm ending this by saying that this song was one of the highlights of my life and will be remembered. i would give it 11/10.

That's all for now! Thank you for reading this.
Bye, Best Friends! :)

Pecan:
Based on my personal opinion, this song is like a breath of fresh air to me. In this day and age, many songs are all about inappropriate matters and topics. An infamous example would be the song, 'Anaconda'.

 The song, 'Flashlight' portrays about friendship, teamwork and bonds between the people you love and care about the most in your life. In the first and second verse, it tells us that no one should be left alone, standing on it's two feet with nobody there to help along them through the journey. It's natural of us, humans to feel scared and nervous of the unknown. We would lose hope and doubt our skills without someone there to support us along the way.
The chorus tells us that someone plays an important role in our life, guiding us through the 'dark' and helping us when we stumble and fall. They make it easier for us as they are our flashlight to help survive the night. I think the song fits perfectly with the movie, 'Pitch Perfect 2' as it's all about teamwork and friendships.

The music video partly shows a couple who breaks up in the beginning but they started to realise how they can't be seperated  as they need each other as their flashlights. Also, Jessie J did a really good job in not taking away our attention from the lyrics by just dancing around and not doing anything absurd. It captures our attention to the lyrics and it's meaning by also showing snippets from the movie of how they bonded and needed one another.

The song and music video is just absolutely amazing. It's definitely a hit song on the radios. It is also something different from all the other songs that aren't friendly to children. Thank you for reading my opinion ;) I'm ending it by saying that I love your sunglasses Jessie J.

Peace out ya'll. Pecan needs her sleep.

Fudge:
Hey guys! It’s Fudge here. Okay from the title of this blogpost, you would already know what we’re going to talk about. The three of us here, just couldn’t get the song ‘Flashlight’ out of our heads. It’s just so catchy and it’s also from one of our favourite movies too. Let’s get to it shall we?

I think this song is amazing in general. It has a catchy tune, a great meaning behind it, an simple yet great music video, a great singer to sing it - basically the whole package. The singer is singing about how whenever she’s frightened, in doubt or sad, she remembers that she doesn’t need to feel those emotions because she has someone there to catch her when she falls. It’s a simple song with a deep meaning behind it. Everyone could relate to helping a friend in need or being helped by a friend.

The song describes how one could easily get lost in the darkness full of fear and doubt but they would have a friend there to be their flashlight and help them lead the way through the darkness. The music video is great too because the singer doesn’t take too much attention away from the song itself which is good as music videos these days don’t even relate to the song and takes all the attention away from the song.

The cut-out scenes from the movie ‘Pitch Perfect 2’ also mashes well with the song as the scenes are when the characters are bonding together and helping each other out. It also captures the moment of true friendship - when a friend would do just about anything to cheer you up and to make sure you’re okay. I would give it a good 10/10.

This song as been judged by Fudge.

Peace.
